About Qatari Diar
Qatari Diar is the real estate investment and development arm of the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund. Established in 2005, it was created to invest in large-scale real estate projects in Qatar and around the world, and its first major project, Lusail City north of Doha, became one of the region’s most ambitious planned cities.
Backed by the financial strength of one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds, Qatari Diar has built a global portfolio of landmark residential, hospitality, and mixed-use developments across many countries.
Qatari Diar in Egypt
Egypt has become one of Qatari Diar’s most important markets. The company’s Egyptian portfolio includes a landmark hotel and residential development on the Nile Corniche in Cairo, and CityGate in New Cairo, a large mixed-use community.
Its most significant project is Alam El Roum on the North Coast, a new coastal city developed under a major agreement with the Egyptian government. The first phase alone covers around 4 million square meters, making it one of the largest coastal developments in the country’s history.
